The Shimano Baitrunner D Series is the benchmark in baitrunner spinning reels engineered for anglers who fish live or cut bait in both saltwater and freshwater environments.

How the Baitrunner System Works

Cast your bait, then flip the lever on the back of the reel to engage free-spool mode. The bail stays closed while your bait swims naturally no more missed hooksets from a spinning reel that can’t close fast enough on a hard-running fish. When you’re ready to fight, simply turn the handle and the main drag engages instantly.

Adjustable Free-Spool Drag

The rear dial lets you fine-tune the free-spool tension on the fly. Slow down a large, fast-swimming bait or open up the spool for a lighter presentation all without touching your main drag setting.
