The Penn Slammer IV DX Spinning Reel takes the new standard Slammer IV up a notch, making them the ultimate Penn spin reel available! It has a few key features that really boost the performance and durability of the reels even further, along with a very nicechange in cosmeticstoo.

The biggest feature to be added to the upgraded Slammer IV DX reels is the upgraded CNC Gears (main and pinion gear), which are made of ultra-strong stainless steel rather than brass for extra strength and durability. For a heavy-duty workhorse reel, strength is really what you’re looking for and durability is a welcomed add-on, thisupgrade covers both.

On top of this, the Penn Slammer IV DX reels also have an extra ball bearing compared to the standard Slammer IV reels thatsits under the spool, which gives the Dura-Drag additional support and increases overall reeling smoothness as well.

The other very obvious change to the upgraded Slammer IV DX range is the sleek black and silver cosmetic, a bit nicer on the eyes and certainly matches up nicely on a wider range of rods if that’s what you’re into.

The Penn Slammer IV DX reels are still built off the proven IPX6 sealed body and spool for fantastic water resistance, and alsofeature the new hydrophobic line roller that repels water better than previous models.

Penn have alsoredesigned the Dura-Drag system in the Penn Slammer IV DX reels to not only be better sealed, but also offer a wider range of usable drag. All models feature the Dura-Drag system with carbon fibre washers, other than the smallest 2500 sized reel which has HT-100 drag technology with carbon fibre washers within them.

There’s a reel for all types of fishing in the Penn Slammer IV DX spinning reel range,so if you’re looking for the ultimate in a heavy-duty Penn reel, this one’s for you!

Upgrades Over The Standard Slammer IV

• Upgraded stainless steel CNC Gear Technology for ultra-durable main and pinion gear
• Additional bearing under the spool to give the Dura-Drag system dual support (2 in DX versus 1 in standard)
• Exclusive silver & black cosmetic
• Spare Hypalon handle knob

Features:

• Upgraded Stainless Steel CNC Gear Technology – State of the art Computer Numerical Control technology machines gears out of a solid piece of metal, ensuring exact alignment, smooth long-term performance and cranking torque rigidity when trying to get that last wind on a hard fighting fish.
• 9+1 Sealed Stainless Steel Ball Bearings
• IPX6 Sealed – the Slammers renowned IPX6 sealing is improved further by an additional seal under the rotor before the labyrinth seal, and a change in the way the drag is sealed to offer a reduced minimum drag for improved low-end smoothness.
• Hydrophobic Line Roller – repels saltwater better than previous models.
• Dura-Drag System – Silky smooth Dura-Drag carbon fibre washers eliminate hesitation even under extreme drag settings, and are impregnated with a Phenolic bonding agent to reduce wear and water intrusion.
• HT-100 Drag System – The new small but tough 2500 size features HT-100 carbon fibre drag washers with PENNs proprietary heat-dispersing grease, the 100 indicating that 100 miles of line can be pulled of the reel with no wear on the washers.
• Full Metal body, sideplate and rotor – to minimise body flex in sizes 3500-8500.
• Full Metal body and sideplate, graphite rotor – to reduce weight in the smaller 2500 sizes
• Reduced Rotor Weight – for smoother operation
• Machined aluminium power knob and spareHypalon knob across the range
• Automatic Bail Trip – on 2500-5500 sizes
• Manual Bail Trip – on 6500-8500 sizes
• Braid Ready – To eliminate slippage and the need to use monofilament backing before spooling, the Slammer IV DX features a textured rubber gasket at the base of the spool to tie your braid directly onto.
• Superline Spool – No backing needed because the rubber gasket keeps superline from slipping.
• Instant Anti-Reverse – Eliminates rotor backplay for instant hook sets.
• Techno Balanced – gives smooth retrieves.
• Line Capacity Rings – Line capacities on spool are marked at 1/3rd, 2/3rd and full capacity.
• Leveline – The perfect oscillation for an extremely even line lay.
