STIR UP A SURFACE FEEDING FRENZY ON EVERY CAST

SLIM SHAPE APPEAL

The Skimmer GRANDE 125 measures in at 5 inches long and weighs 5/8oz. It features the same slim body profile like the original ima Skimmer separating it from other topwater stickbaits. Short quick jerks with the rod pointed down will have the Skimmer GRANDE zigging and zagging back and forth causing a raucous on the surface. This non-stop series of ever widening boils emanating behind it emulates a school of surface feeding bass. When bass notice this frenzy then they realize its their clue to start feeding.

WILD BOILING ACTION

A large part of the Skimmers action is caused on the ending movementof each zig or zag as the tail-weighted back end of the ima Skimmer stirs the water wildly causing a large boil. So every time that the Skimmerzigs or zags left or right, the final movement of the weighted tail stirs the surface into a large boil, and the Skimmer slips out barely ahead of the boil, just like adesperate baitfish narrowly escaping a basss lunge.

COMPETITIVE FEEDING SIGNALS CALL BASS IN FROM FAR AND WIDE

The Skimmers action then becomes a non-stop series of ever-widening boils emanating behind it. Its like having a school of surface-feeding bass on the scene, all boiling the surfacebehind the ima Skimmers tail. If theres ever anything that gets anon-committal bass to bite, it is other bass feeding in front of it and thats the competitive feeding cue that the Skimmers tail-stirring movement sends out to all bass within range of sensing the surface-feeding boilstrailing out behind the Skimmer.

Action
Long casts are essential for many topwater fishing situations, especially whentargeting schooling fish. A 30 to 40-pound braided line or 15 to 20-pound monofilament line is necessary for casting distance and best action for large topwaters like the Skimmer GRANDE. A 7-foot or longer, medium casting rod will have the right action for working thebait and landing more of what bites. A graphite or composite rod is ideal for fishing topwater lures.
