The CC-72MH is the most versatile rod in CastAway’s Crankin’ Series a 7’2″ med-heavy casting rod with a 1/41 oz lure weight range that covers more techniques than any other model in the lineup. It’s the right tool for squarebills, shad-body crankbaits, chatterbaits, rattletraps, and mid-depth divers alike. The mod-fast action loads deep into the S-Glass blank, absorbing head shakes to keep treble hooks pinned while still providing the casting accuracy and distance you need to work specific targets. At 7’2″ you get the reach to bomb casts to the back of a flat or skip a squarebill under a dock without sacrificing the tip control that shorter cranking rods sacrifice for length.

The blank is CastAway’s Proprietary S-Glass construction carbon fiber blended with fiberglass to achieve the parabolic bend profile of a glass rod at a fraction of the weight. The Graphite Composite Sensa-Touch Reel Seat features three direct contact points to the blank, so you feel every tick, bump, and deflection as the bait works through cover.
