Certate SW shares its Monocoque (MQ) body with the famous Saltiga. The single-piece body removes the requirement of a traditional side plate and screw system, replacing that with an engine plate that houses the incredibly large G1 Duralumin drive gear, also shared with the Saltiga. This body & gear combination was what put Saltiga on the map and is sure to set Certate SW right at the top of the tree when it comes to strength and power.
Equipped with a ZAION rotor design, Certate SW is lightweight and strong. ZAIONs lightweight construction makes the rotation of Certate SW incredibly light & responsive. Certate SW comes equipped with a Magseal line roller and Magseal body, which combined with the MQ construction means that Certate SW is supremely well sealed to the elements, giving anglers the confidence that Certate SW will not let them down. Certate SWs multi-layer carbon drag delivers ten times increased drag durability. The new washer design combined with the aluminum radiation drag knob increases heat dissipation improving drag performance under heavy load.

The “Daiwa ’24 Certate SW” is a model specifically designed for use in the natural environment of the sea, further refining the features of the CERTATE. It is based on the next-generation spinning reel design philosophy, the Air Drive Design, and utilizes advanced technologies such as an aluminum full-metal monocoque body and MagShield, which ensure the core performance of the CERTATE. This tradition is continued and focused on the demands of a specialized saltwater model. The most important criteria were stiffness and power. The target species are predatory fish like bluefish, skipjack, or hirasuzuki, for which 2-3 mm PE lines are typically used. Such catches can sometimes involve fights with large fish that defy imagination. To prepare for this, the monocoque housing was enlarged and the large internal drive gear reinforced. The engine plate, which supports the geared motor, was also made thicker. This ensures optimal gear meshing even under high load during retrieval, enabling powerful and efficient power transmission. These improvements extend beyond the housing itself: The rotor in the front section, made of ZAION material, has been enlarged and reinforced, resulting in a stiffness increase of approximately 39% compared to the similarly sized CERTATE model (compared to the LT5000). The bail arm is designed for use with larger lures and features a manual anti-reverse mechanism to prevent unintentional rebound during casting thus avoiding accidents. The model has also been improved in terms of water resistance compared to its predecessor. Use in the sea poses a significantly higher risk of water intrusion due to the salt content compared to freshwater. Waves and sea breezes further increase the potential for water entry. To counteract this, the seal has been attached to the handle and combined with MagShield technology on the worm gear this ensures a high degree of water resistance. Under the natural conditions of the sea, it was essential to develop a reliable reel. This goal was pursued consistently: The CERTATE SW was thoroughly tested, further developed, and adapted to the challenges at sea.

It all begins with a solid one-piece aluminium monocoque (MQ) body, housing an oversize G1 Duralumin drive gear for increased winding power, strength & gear durability. MONOCOQUE BODYStrong and durable technology, monocoque body. Conventional spinning reels generally support both ends of the drive gear with the body and body cover, and secure them with several screws. In order to further improve precision and rigidity, the monocoque body eliminates the body cover and secures the gear by screwing a high-precision plate directly into the body. This improves the gear support precision, rigidity, and airtightness. Furthermore, by utilizing the space previously taken up by the screw, we have succeeded in expanding the size of the drive gear to its maximum. The monocoque body means MONO (one) – COQUE (shell). The completely new shape, which symbolizes the strength of a single shell, breaks the conventional wisdom of reel structure.It uses a full metal (aluminum) monocoque body. The maximum diameter Tough Digigear is enclosed in a highly rigid, lightweight, compact housing.

AIRDRIVE DESIGNAir Drive Design is a next-generation spinning reel design concept that pursues the angler’s desire to operate the lure as they wish. Air Drive Design is composed of up to four technologies. The prerequisite is the installation of an Air Drive Rotor that produces light winding and high-response rotation, a lightweight and trouble-free Air Drive Bail, a thin-walled Air Drive Spool that has been designed to reduce weight by removing unnecessary material to the limit, and an Air Drive Shaft that supports the main shaft with a high-precision collar and has a non-contact structure with the pinion gear, allowing for light winding with extremely little rotation noise even under high load. The synergistic effect of these and the improvement of the weight balance of the reel achieve a high level of operability.*The 24 CERTATE SW4000/5000/6000 are equipped with three features: AIRDRIVE ROTOR, AIRDRIVE BAIL, and AIRDRIVE SHAFT.
AIR DRIVE ROTORUsing our unique theory, we have derived a new shape that looks as if it was cut out of a sphere, and by thoroughly removing unnecessary material from it, we have achieved a significant weight reduction while maintaining rigidity. This has dramatically improved the lightness of the reel, which leads to improved operability and sensitivity.The new ZIAON AIRDRIVE ROTOR was developed for 24 CERTATE SW. Its low inertia and strength-oriented settings enable sharp and technical lure control with high response, giving anglers an overwhelming advantage.
AIR DRIVE BAILThe Air Bail has adopted a hollow pipe structure that provides rigidity and light weight, but in order to achieve further weight reduction, the diameter has been made smaller while maintaining the necessary strength. The bail angle is set to the optimum angle to allow the line to transition more smoothly from the veil to the line roller. This has made it even lighter and less troublesome.24 CERTATE SW uses the optimal bail diameter for each size. The 6000 size has a 3.0mm diameter that prioritizes strength, while the 4000/5000 sizes have a 2.4mm diameter that prioritizes operability.
AIR DRIVE SHAFTThe system uses a non-contact structure between the main shaft and pinion, a linear shaft that eliminates friction, and supports both ends of the pinion with bottom brackets, maximizing the power input to generate torque. Furthermore, the main shaft is supported by a high-precision collar, which reduces rotational noise to the maximum.
MAGSEALEDDAIWA’s unique waterproof structure creates a wall of magnetic mag oil in the gap between the body and rotor, blocking out seawater, dust, and other elements.This technology is installed in two places in the 24 CERTATE SW4000/5000/6000: the pinion and the line roller. It further improves waterproofness, durability, and rotation performance, achieving a high level of waterproofness.
ATD (TOUGH)The ATD operates smoothly and keeps working smoothly in response to the pull of the fish. The ATD Tough uses carbon washers to achieve high durability. LC-ABS (Long Cast ABS)While keeping the idea of reducing contact resistance of ABS II, the contact point has been moved forward to achieve smoother line release. The effect of the ring part moving forward makes it difficult for the line to get on the ring, which has resulted in an approximately 5% increase in distance and trouble-free performance over the conventional ABS II. This is the next generation ABS spool that achieves LC (= LONG CAST).
Stopperless body
The body structure has been simplified by removing the stopper. The decision to remove the stopper, which is a route through which water and foreign objects can enter, not only improves waterproof performance but also minimizes the risk of sudden trouble in harsh environments or when dealing with large fish, which are required for 24 CERTATE 4000/5000/6000.
Manual returnIn order to completely prevent the bail from flipping back when casting and to improve durability, a manual return mechanism is used that prevents the bail from flipping back when the handle is turned.
