The CC-710H is the big-bait, deep-water rod in CastAway’s Crankin’ Series 7’10” of heavy-power, mod-fast casting rod purpose-built for anglers who run large deep-diving plugs, magnum crankbaits, and big swimbaits. At 1/22 oz lure weight and 1425 lb line, this is the rod you spool with 17 lb fluorocarbon and bomb out a 2.5 Strike King 6XD to the 20-foot ledges, or load up a 1.5 oz swimbait for suspended fish in open water. The 7’10” length puts serious distance behind every cast and keeps the bait running deep longer before it climbs back up on the retrieve.

The S-Glass blank construction CastAway’s carbon-fiberglass blend provides the slow, deep-loading action that keeps big treble hooks pinned through the violent head shakes and surges that heavy, fast-diving lures generate at distance. Traditional fast-action graphite rods rip hooks; the Crankin’ Series flex profile doesn’t. The Graphite Composite Sensa-Touch Reel Seat delivers three direct contact points to the blank for sensitivity despite the length, and semi-micro Sea Guide SS316 tangle-free guides with SiC inserts keep the rod weight manageable so fatigue doesn’t become a factor during a long day of grinding the bottom.
