The Averon Cassette reel is my new stillwater reel. It is the perfect solution for the angler with a bunch of lines. The spare cassettes are easy to swap on and off and they lock securely into the spool frame. The 3 included cassettes are also back compatible if you have the previous Hardy Ultradisc Cassette reel. For the Averon Cassette reel, Hardy went back to a standard frame which makes swapping lines much easier than the full frame on the previous version. (Devin)

Here’s what Hardy has to say:

The Hardy Averon Cassette Reel builds on the legacy of previous Hardy cassette reels with a completely redesigned frame, while retaining the trusted CLS locking system and compatibility with existing spools. The new frame enhances durability and utilizes a practical open-cage design for the 40007000 sizes. A robust disc drag system delivers ultra-smooth stopping power, scaled to the reel size, and features a regulator knob that provides precise adjustments with positive detents.

Designed with full compatibility in mind, the Averon Cassette features spools that are interchangeable with the previous generation (Ultradisc Cassette / UDC). This ensures seamless versatility, allowing anglers to use UDC spools with the Averon Cassette and vice versa, making it the ideal choice for anglers carrying multiple lines.
