The Shimano Gravitator 220SS Glidebait is Shimano’s groundbreaking entry into the big-bass glide bait category for 2025, delivering next-level performance, unmatched casting distance, and customizable action in an affordable, high-tech package. Measuring 8 2/3 inches (220mm) and weighing 3 3/8 oz (95g), this slow-sinking glide bait is engineered to mimic large, vulnerable forage while covering water efficiently and triggering explosive strikes from trophy largemouth and smallmouth.

At the core is Shimano’s innovative ARMABOOST technology a revolutionary folding mechanism that collapses the lure’s double-jointed body into a more aerodynamic profile during the cast. This slashes air resistance, boosts flight distance by up to 35%, and minimizes unwanted spinning for laser-accurate, long-distance presentations that reach distant structure, weed edges, or schooling fish without sacrificing control.

Key performance features include:

• Action Modifying Insert A removable insert lets you dial in the action on the fly: insert it for a wider, broader glide with sweeping side-to-side sweeps ideal for open water or cold fronts; remove it for a tighter, choppier wiggle that excels in pressured scenarios or when bass want a more aggressive darting motion.
• FLASH BOOST (select colors) Internally suspended foil creates a flashing secondary action that continues even on the pause, drawing follows into committed blows.
• SCALE BOOST (select colors) Realistic 3D holographic scaling enhances visual appeal and imitation of real baitfish.
• Dual line tie options Tie to the lower eye for a subsurface glide or the upper for a near-surface walk-and-pause presentation that mimics a dying shad on top.
• Premium hardware Equipped with sticky-sharp treble hooks and additional interchangeable tails for fine-tuning action from subtle to aggressive.
• Slow-sinking design Suspends perfectly in the strike zone, allowing long pauses that provoke reaction strikes from following or suspended bass.

This versatile glide bait shines in big-bait scenarios: slow-rolling over grass flats, working points and ledges in fall or spring, targeting post-spawn giants, or burning it for reaction bites in warmer water. Part of Shimano’s complete Big Bass System, it pairs seamlessly with heavy swimbait rods, high-capacity reels, and 20-30 lb fluorocarbon or braid setups.

Available in tempting colors that imitate shad, perch, trout, and more, the Gravitator 220SS brings premium Japanese engineering and customization to glide bait fishing without the premium price tag. Whether you’re new to big baits or a seasoned swimbait angler, this lure redefines what’s possible longer casts, tunable action, and big bites in one game-changing package.

Dominate the big-bass game with the Shimano Gravitator 220SS Glidebait innovation that turns average days into trophy hunts.
